Readers choice awards 2016: routers and NAS devices

Date:2017/12/22 15:50:27
Perhaps the most common question in the family today is "what's for dinner?" "Is the Internet down? "Is this the next" network that looks so slow?" "And" do you mind if I reboot my router?" "We all become very dependent on having a fast, reliable Internet connection." Of course, the home Internet no longer means a computer connected to a wired modem. A dozen or more devices are trying to share the same connection, it is not uncommon, including personal computers, smart phones, tablets, game consoles, streaming media equipment, printers, not to mention the "smart home/Internet" devices such as thermostats, light bulbs, talking robot, and lots more.
For a list of network connection devices, many also add a network connection storage (NAS) device. NAS devices allow you to store and backup on your home, so, need to by a number of personnel or equipment to access files and not all stored on a computer, when you need these files can be opened, or may not be opened. Most of the families of the NAS devices using independent units, these units insert an Ethernet port on a router, but some NAS devices have been integrated into the router, such as apple TimeCapsule. Another popular NAS path is to insert standard external hard disks into USB ports on many routers.
In a year, analysts at PCMag LABS help you select routers and NAS devices through detailed benchmarking and analysis of the speed, characteristics, and availability of dozens of units. This month, we will enhance our analysts' insights through our readers, in our PCMag reader's NAS and router selection award surveys. Our survey to help us measure how these products stand out in the continuous use, collect your satisfaction on the hardware you use, and when you need help, these devices behind you in support of the company.
One of the most important aspects of our investigation is to fill in the gaps in reliability. Our analysts can look at certain aspects of reliability during the test, but our survey provides insights into long-term use. Not everyone has the same product experience, but patterns emerge by collecting feedback from actual users. Your mileage may vary, but at least you have a good idea of your experience of choosing a brand.
So keep reading and find out which providers' routers and NAS devices should consider your connection home.
From March 7, 2016 to April 11, 2016, the routers and network connections selected by PCMag readers in this field are stored in this area. For more information on how to investigate, read the survey method. Each person who completed the survey was given a drawing to get a $350 amazon gift card.
